MILA’s Instructional Leadership Institute is a four part professional development series led by Dr. Debbie McFalone. This learning series is for new and seasoned instructional leaders, district and building leaders, teacher leaders and content consultants. Over the course of these interactive highly engaging sessions, participants from all over Michigan focus on:
- Who You Are Is How You Lead: aligning your values and behavior, nurturing and maintaining relational trust, forming a strong team. Leading effectively through times of transition.
- Building and Nurturing A Strong Effective Team: Cultivating a brave culture
- Best Practices For Offering Feedback /. Planning and Holding Difficult Conversations: Leaders will be equipped with practical and relevant protocols for helping all their team members perform at their most productive
- The Leader As Coach: Participants will learn how to hold powerful individualized conversations to nurture growth, and will be furnished with specific coaching sentence stems and ideas for questions that lead to deep reflection
- The Link Between Hope, Resilience, Courage and Learning: Our group will examine the strong connection in research between optimism, resilience and high achievement. We'll also think together about the four kinds of courage leaders need right now.
Throughout the sessions Debbie will model effective team protocols and presentation strategies that leaders can transfer and apply immediately into their own role. Whether you're an early career leader, or a seasoned leader who'd love to take part in a cohort group, we invite you to join us in this exciting series!
- All sessions begin at 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- All face-to-face sessions take place at Wayland Union Schools Admin Building; 893 E. Superior St, Wayland, MI 49348 and will include snacks and lunch.
- Each session participants will be eligible for 5 SCECHS
- Member Cost: $550.00 ($500 registration, $50 materials)
- Non-Member Cost: $625.00 ($500 registration, $75 membership, $50 materials)
